The major focus of the research activities is the identification and proof of new targets and the development of novel concepts for the diagnosis of tumour-, age- and environmental induced diseases. Amynon develops diagnostic assays up to the prototype including ‘proof of concept’ studies.
A core competence of the company is to study changes of gene expression and function in human tissues during cancer development and ageing, with the intention to identify and validate new targets for early diagnosis of e.g. HPV induced tumour development in anogenital epithelia or age associated dysfunctions in the skin and cardio vascular system, respectively.
Amynon's technology for diagnostic assays is primarily based in immuno detection: after recombinant expression and highly purification of the identified target protein monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies are produced. They will be used for the development of diagnostic assay lines to identify the target protein in patient samples (smears, liquid based cytology, tumour biopsies, body liquids and cell lysates).

Amynon could win two new scienific team members with high competence in protein biochemically processes and molecular biology.
After finalization of product optimization the first prototype of 'PapTec'- assay went into external preclinical trial with some austrian and german institutions. Aim is the proof of correlation between E7 oncoprotein detection, HPV testing, liquid based cytology and p16INK4a detection. Duration of the trial: 3 month.
